Results are coming in from local elections held yesterday throughout Armenia.

According to preliminary tallies, mayors of three rural communities in the country’s northwest province of Shirak were reelected.

In Lousakerd, incumbent Samvel Balabekyan beat his rival Mourad Voskanyan by 254 to 85 votes.

In Hovtashen, Seyran Piliposyan was returned to the job by garnering 133 votes to his rival Arsen Yeghoyan’s 55.

In Arevik, incumbent Garegin Stepanyan appears to have beaten a former mayor, Davit Toumikyan, by a vote to 481 to 358.
