Gyumri Teacher Arrested for Demanding and Accepting $130 Bribe

Armenia's National Security Service reports that its officers arrested a teacher at Gyumri’s State Pedagogical Institute today at the moment he was accepting a 60,000 AMD (US$130) bribe from a student as the price to pay for getting a passing mark on a test.

Tigran Madoyan, who teaches at the institute’s  Faculty of Physical Training and Primary Military Training and serves as a lieutenant-colonel in the Armenian Army, demanded the bribe from fifth year student and army private Rouben Gevorgyan
