Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended today’s opening of the first Carrefour market in Armenia.

Sargsyan toured the store, located in Yerevan Mall, with Christian De Nale, Carrefour Armenia Country Manager, and Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan.

The ‘hypermarket’ is, in the country’s capital. Hypermarkets, according to Carrefour’s website, are large stores, with sales areas of between 2,400 and 23,000 square meters, offering a wide range of food and non-food items, low prices and targeted promotions: the ideal store format for anyone doing a major shopping trip.

As of December 2014, Carrefour group operates over 10,800 stores in 34 countries.
