During a visit to Vayots Dzor Province today, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan made an appearance at the opening of EcoFarm, an agricultural processing unit, in the community of Gndevaz.

Founded in 2013, EcoFarm will breed milk heifers brought from Germany and manufacture milk and cheese.

The firm has 15 permanent and 45 season employees and plans to produce 1.16 million kilograms of milk annually.

In the town of Jermouk, Sargsyan visited the Jermouk Group’s new plant construction site. This company produces the Jermouk brand of mineral water. Company officials claim that after joining the Eurasian Economic Union, the demand for the mineral water has increased in Russia, thus resulting in the need for constructing a new and modernized bottling plant.

Sargsyan then attended opening ceremonies of the Hyatt Place hotel in Jermouk. A government press release says that the hotel is part of the government’s project to turn the resort town of Jermouk into a center of tourism in Armenia.
