Congratulating Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on his 61st birthday, Russia’s Vladimir Putin writes:

During your years serving in the government, you have deservedly gained the respect of your countrymen as well as great esteem on the international stage. I deeply value your personal contribution in the strengthening of friendly and federal relations between our countries.”

Armenia’s presidential office says that Putin also telephoned Sargsyan today.
