4.4 % of 2,000 British tourists said they were “ripped off” in Armenia according to a poll published in the Travel and Tour World website.

That figure puts Armenia in 9th place in the fraud, scam and duping list following such countries as Spain (21.5%), France (14.8%) and Italy (10.2%).

The 2,000 British travelers, who had gone to Europe in the past 12 months, were asked if they’d fallen victim to a scam during their travels. Common scams reported included pick pocketing, street crime, hidden tourist taxes and being overcharged by taxi drivers.
