England: Albanian Drug Dealer Claimed to be Interpol Crime-Fighter

When British police arrested an Albanian drug dealer red-handed he had an unusual cover story up his sleeve.

Nottingham Crown Court heard that Klisman Sykaj, who arrived in the UK illegally four years ago, told police he had been recruited by Interpol to uncover drug dealers in the region, the Nottingham Post reports.

Officers reportedly found £2,000 in £50 notes in Sykaj’s possession, which he said were from gambling.

When they later searched his flat, they uncovered 213 grams of cocaine hidden in the top of a cooker.

Sykaj admitted lying to the police about working for Interpol.

The court heard that he came to England illegally because he wasn’t safe in his home country, and tried to find work at car washes before falling into drug dealing.

He was sentenced to three years in jail for possession of cocaine and intent to supply others.
