At a meeting today in Yerevan with Armenia’s Minister of Transportation and Communication Gagik Beglaryan Japan’s Ambassador to Armenia Eiji Taguchi noted that Japanese organizations might invest in the North-South Highway now being constructed in Armenia.

Ambassador’s Taguchi’s remarks came after Minister Beglaryan stressed the importance of the highway to Armenia’s economic development.

Beglaryan said he would be willing to discuss the issue with Japanese government representatives during his upcoming visit to Tokyo.

The two sides also discussed prospects regarding the Armenia Southern Railway project.
