Thousands in Armenia Get Free Medical Screenings
Armenia’s Ministry of Health reports that 143,000 citizens between the ages of 35-68 have been examined for high blood pressure and another 98,000 have had their blood glucose levels tested.
The ministry says that the examinations are part of the Prevention and Supervision of Illnesses project launched in January 2015.
Another 19,500 women aged 30-60 were given PAP tests for cervical cancer.
The program is designed to screen at risk groups early on to improve mortality rates.
