A private ambulance service in Yerevan reports that it receives 600-650 calls a day, mostly dealing with cardio-vascular problems.

Takouhie Stepanyan, Director of Emergency Medical Assistance Ltd., says it’s not just the hot summer weather causing all the calls.

Stepanyan told Hetq that the daily call numbers were about the same in May and June as well. She said that the number of calls last year was in the same ballpark.

The company also provides medical advice to those who prefer not to be picked up by an ambulance and taken to a hospital.

The company presently has a fleet of 35 ambulances serving all of Yerevan.
