Heritage Party VP: People Want Regime, Not Constitutional, Change

Lilit Tadevosyan

Heritage Party VP Armen Martirosyan told those attending a conference of political forces opposing proposed constitutional changes in Armenia that most of the people he comes into contact with are more focused on regime change.

“No one I meet talks about constitutional change,” Martirosyan said at the gathering of a newly formed movement called “Chek Antskatsni” (You won’t pass [the changes]).

Many regard the proposed changes, facilitating a parliamentary political system in Armenia, as a ruse by the current regime to usher in one party rule.

Martirosyan called on all to unite against the proposed changes.
