A heated exchange broke out between opposition HAK MP Hrant Bagratyan and ruling Republican Party MP Hayk Baboukhanyan during today’s parliamentary hearing regarding changes to the constitution.

The exchange arose when HAK MP Levon Zourabyan got up and noted that President Sargsyan’s representative Vardan Poghosyan made a false claim yesterday by saying that Sargsyan personally declared that he wouldn’t seek the office of parliament president if the country adopted a parliamentary system.

Poghosyan countered that he hadn’t made a false statement and that, “Serzh Sargsyan had made such a decision public via various television channels.”

Zourabyan proceeded to make several remarks to the contrary, inciting Republican Party MP Khosrov Haroutyunyan to respond in kind.

MP Bagratyan couldn’t contain his displeasure and got into a shouting match with MP Baboukhanyan.

Bagratyan ordered Baboukhanyan to “get your ass over here”, to which Baboukhanyan responded, “You come here.”
