Yerevan Mayor Orders Beefed Up Monitoring of Food Suppliers to Public Schools
The Yerevan Municipality reports that it has uncovered “deficiencies” in 17 public schools when it comes to companies supplying food to cafeterias complying with recent safety instructions.
The municipality had instructed suppliers to remove various health safety infractions, but now reports that some companies are dragging their feet.
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed department heads to closely monitor the compliance process and continue spot checks of school cafeterias.
Mayor Margaryan stated, “If the companies in question do not fulfill the instructions given them within the allotted timeframe their contracts you will cancel their contracts without further ado. Everyone must understand that no infractions will be tolerated when it comes to feeding children.”
