Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan sent a congratulatory message to Abkhazia President Raul Khajimba today on the occasion of the country’s Day of Liberation and Victory in the Patriotic War.

It was on September 30, 1993 that the 1992-1993 Abkhazia War ended and Abkhazia gained de facto independence.

“In the name of the people of the Artsakh Republic, government, and myself, I warmly congratulate you and all the people of the Republic of Abkhazia on the occasion of your Day of Liberation and Victory in the Patriotic War,” wrote Sahakyan.

Artsakh recognized Abkhazia on November 17, 2006.
