Today, Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak was presented with an honorary doctoral degree by Armenia’s State Engineering “Polytechnic” University in Yerevan.

Steve Wozniak and his wife Janet arrived in Yerevan yesterday for a series of meetings with government officials and IT sector representatives.

Upon receiving the award, Mr. Wozniak commented: “It’s a great honor for me to be in Armenia. This university, like any other polytechnic school in the world, has great significance for me. At an early age, I knew that I wanted to become an engineer because engineers are the ones that can create and make things. Our lives are ripe with technologies and will continue to be so. I am in love with the computer because I can program it.”

Engineering University Rector Ara Avetisyan said that the school was deeply touched by Mr. Wozniak’s visit given his full work schedule.
