
General Manager of Yerevan Ulisses FC Arrested on Game Fixing Charges
Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) reports today that Gagik Simonyan, general manager of Armenia’s Premier League Ulisses Yerevan football team, fixed a November 2015 football game after placing bets with a local bookmaker.
Also charged with game fixing is Ulisses defender Hayk Hunanyan. Ara Azaryan and Ruben Aroushanyan the administrator and manager’s assistant with Ulisses FC-2 (the reserve team) have also been charged.
Bets ranging from $1,000-$3,000 were placed with Toto Bookmakers in Yerevan.
All four individuals are in police custody.
