Armenia’s Human Rights Defender (HRD) Karen Andreasyan today submitted his letter of resignation.

The news was posted on the HRD's Facebook page.

While Andreasyan thanked his colleagues for their years of collaborative work, he gave no explanation for his resignation from the post, stating that there would be no further clarification.

Andreasyan expressed the hope that the HRD would continue to serve as a priority institution in Armenia.
