Armenian law enforcement have launched a criminal investigation into a robbery that occurred on the night of January 23 in the Tavoush village of Nerkin Aghbyur resulting in the death of a father and serious knife wounds to his son.

 Police report that on the night in question a group of individuals entered the home of Karlen Israelyan and his son Razmik and demanded money. After the Israelyans refused, the robbers savagely attacked the father and son with knives.

Karlen died on the spot and Razmik was later taken to a local hospital.
