Civic Organizations Demand Publication of Voters' Names

Arguing that the voter rolls in Armenia include the names of thousands of citizens who have long since died or no longer reside in the country, a number of civil organizations have called on the government to institute the practice of publishing the names of citizens who have participated in elections.

The organizations, in a public statement, claim that over-inflated voter rolls increase the risk of multiple voting and other infractions as witnessed in the December 6, 2015 constitutional referendum.

The signatory organizations below say that this vital issue must be included in upcoming parliamentary hearings regarding the adoption of a new electoral code for Armenia.
