President Sargsyan: "We will not allow a new genocide of Armenians"

Today, on the 101th anniversary of the 1915 Genocide, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Tzitzernakaberd Genocide Memorial overlooking Yerevan and paid tribute to the memory of the victims of that crime against humanity.  He laid a wreath at the memorial and placed flowers at the eternal flame.

Sargsyan said that struggle for justice would continue and that the Armenian people had proved to themselves and the world that the Turkish genocidal policies had failed.

Against the backdrop of the recent fighting in Artsakh, Sargsyan declared:

“Today, on April 24, 2016, I declare to the world that there will be no annihilation or forced exile in Artsakh. We will not allow a new genocide of Armenians. By we, I refer to the Armenian people, to all its segments, the unity of Armenians.”
