German and Local Physicians Consult on Medical Treatment for Injured Artsakh Soldiers

Armenia’s Ministry of Health reports that a group of doctors from Germany sat in on a meeting to discuss the medical condition of two 19 soldiers injured during the recent round of fighting in Artsakh.

The German specialists, trauma specialists and plastic surgeons from the Freiburg University Clinic, consulted with local physicians as to the best course of treatment for the two injured men.

Also on hand was Ashot Smbatyan, Armenia’s Ambassador to Germany. The parents of the two soldiers also participated in the consultation.

Smbatyan expressed his willingness to help organize their medical treatment overseas, if needed.

The two soldiers are now being treated at Yerevan’s Erebouni Medical Center.

The German physicians are scheduled to visit the Erebouni Medical Center and the Central Military Hospital to gauge firsthand the medical condition of injured military personnel.
