Armenia Approves Text of Bill to Recognize Artsakh Republic
The government of Armenia today approved the text of a draft bill that would, if adopted by the country’s parliament, recognize the independence of the Republic of Artsakh.
The bill was introduced by Heritage Party MPs Zaruhie Postanjyan and Hrant Bagratyan and was presented to the government cabinet session by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan.
In the draft’s conclusion we read: “The acceptance of the introduced draft by the government of Armenia is conditioned on the results of discussions between Armenia and Artsakh, taking into account future developments, including external factors.”
The bill now goes to the parliament for debate.
