Armenia's National Security Service Urges Armed Group to "Cease and Desist"
Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) has called on the armed group that seized a Yerevan police patrol service office yesterday and continues to hold hostages to cease and desist their actions.
The NSS, in a recently released statement, urged the Sasna Dzrer group to lay down their arms and thus prevent further loss of life. One police employee died in the initial seizure of the building.
The NSS says that law enforcement is taking all necessary steps to resolve the stand-off peacefully, but given the situation on the ground that may not be possible.
Concluding, the NSS says there is still time for the armed group to desist without the use of force.
