Film Director Aram Shahbazyan says that Yerevan police broke his arm last night when he went to visit a friend who lives opposite the police building seized on Sunday by the armed Sasna Dzrer group.

Shahbazyan says that when he asked police at the security cordon if he could visit his friend, an individual in civilian dress shouted out an order and the police wrestled the director to the ground.

Shahbazyan was scheduled to leave for the Burgas International Film Festival in Bulgaria today for a showing of his film “Moskvich, my love.”
