In court today, Arayik Khandoyan, one of the armed Sasna Dzrer group members that seized a Yerevan police building on July 17, announced that he was innocent of the charges of taking hostages and possessing illegal arms.

Khandoyan and the other Sasna Dzrer members surrendered to law enforcement on Sunday, July 31.

A court has decreed that Khandoyan must be kept in pre-trial detention.
