Armenia has sent 33 athletes to compete in 41 events in eight sports’ categories.

Armenia has been participating since the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games, where it won its first and only gold medal, through Armen Nazarian, in Greco-Roman wrestling. The country has also won two silver and nine bronze medals since then.

Today, Armenia’s Hovhannes Davtyan will go up against Austria Ludwig Paischer in the Men’s Judo 60 kg Elimination Round of 32.

Later in the day, Armenia’s Artur Hovhannisyan will meet Samuel Carmona Heredia in the Men’s Boxing Light Fly Preliminaries.
