OSCE Yerevan Office Praises Police for “Professionalism” During July Standoff

Argo Avakov, recently appointed Head of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Office in Yerevan, has given the Armenian Police high marks for their professionalism during the July seizure of a police building by an armed opposition group.

This is according to a communique issued by the Police of Armenia.

Avakov, during a meeting today with Vardan Yeghiazaryan, Deputy Head of the Armenian Police, allegedly said that overall, the actions of the police were within the bounds of the law.

Ambassador Avakov said that the OSCE Yerevan Office would continue to assist the police and that cooperation would be strengthened.

Excuse me!?! I don't know what videos the OSCE (or NOSEE) was NOT watching, but the Armenian police's massive, widespread and systemic human rights abuses are widely documented and continue to be condemned worldwide. Can anyone say why the NOSEE (OSCE) would say this and why Hetq would publish this without challenging it?! P.S.: We are always thrilled with Hetq's dedication to loudly exposing the criminal regime's crimes. Ehat happened here?
