
Artsakh: Civic Movement Created to Monitor Constitutional Change Referedum
A group of civic activists from Artsakh have initiated a civic movement concerning the constitutional changes in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. The announcement is below.
''We, the undersigned, closely following the process of constitutional reforms in Artsakh have decided to initiate a civic movement named ''Right and Dignity'' in order to control these changes. Having concerns with some of the points of the already published conception as well as taking into account the criticism present in the media, this movement aims to invite the attention of the society to the process of constitutional reforms in Artsakh, introduce citizens to the possible challenges, engage great number of election observers in case of the approval of reform project and referendum, actively cooperate with different institutions of civil society of Armenia, this particularly refers to organizations expertised in rights protection and elections.
The initiative group will make attempts to engage as many as possible layers of the society into the civic movement in order to have active discussions on the topic. In case the project passes the National Assembly and in case of the referendum the civic movement “Right and Dignity” will come up with its clear course and corresponding campaign.
