Armenian MP Postanjyan: "Changing faces in government will not result in systematic change"

Referring to the recent ministerial shuffle in the Armenian government, outspoken opposition MP Zaruhie Postanjyan said that such changes would not lead to systematic change in the way the country is governed.

“Without doubt, this formation of the government must fundamentally change. Also, the number of ministries could have been cut by half. This didn’t happen. We cannot expect systematic change just by changing names,” Postanjyan told reporters at a press briefing today in Yerevan.

Postanjyan also stressed that member of the country’s Central Electoral Commission should be elected and not appointed.

She concluded that based on these observations the 25-year cycle of inadequate government is continuing.
