Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan today met with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon who is visiting Yerevan to attend tomorrow’s security council session of CSTO.

Sargsyan, according to the presidential website, told Rahmon that Armenia wishes to deepen friendly ties with his country, noting that the current level of relations does not correspond to the high level of political relations between the two countries or their level of friendship.

Rahmon thanked Sargsyan for the warm welcome his delegation has received. The Tajikistan president said that this was his third trip to Armenia and that he specifically arrived a day before the CSTO session in order to meet his Armenian colleagues and exchange ideas with them designed to strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.
