Head of Armenia's Food Safety Service Urges Russia to Drop Food Import Restrictions

Yesterday, in Moscow, Armen Hayrapetyan, Head of Armenia’s Food Safety Service, tried to convince Sergei Dankvert, Head of Russia’s Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision, to lift January 1, 2016 restrictions on the import various Armenian meat and meat-by-products prone to foot and mouth disease.  

Hayrapetyan told Dankvert about steps taken in Armenia to successfully eradicate the virus and said any threat to Russian consumers had been eliminated.
