Free Nareg

00:38, December 11, 2011

On the morning of Friday, December 9, 2011, Nareg Hartounian, founder of the Naregatsi Art Institute in Yerevan and Shushi was arrested on trumped up charges of tax evasion. Within the course of a day, he was indicted, tried and found guilty without proper due process.

Authorities in the corrupt Armenian government are attempting to extort Nareg and his family of properties and money by the use of fear and unjust incarceration. For anyone who knows Nareg personally or knows of the incredibly selfless and important work he does in Armenia and Artsakh supporting the arts and as well as children and the disabled, it is easy to understand why this act by Armenian authorities is especially despicable.

This Facebook page is set up so that all those that support Nareg and protest the injustices that are being committed against him can share information and act accordingly as the need arises. Please forward this letter to all possible interested parties.

I know Nareg Hartounian personally and I'm proud of Armenians like him, who put forth tremendous effort to keep Armenia moving forward in a positive direction. Nareg does important work in Armenia and Artsakh, he supports the arts movement and gives hope and opportunity to countless Armenians around the world. Therefor, it is vital to voice any and all injustices against such individuals as Nareg , who's mere presents lifts and enlightens those around him. I implore you and insist from the bottom of my heart that Nareg is an Armenian full of passion, morality , and faith, and therefor must be free
