16:40, December 13, 2011The RA Minister for Diaspora Affairs, Hranoush Hakobyan, stated today that she will not comment on the arrest of Nareg Hartounian.
This news was relayed to Hetq by the Ministry’s Press Secretary Anahit Andreasyan.
Andreasyan added that the Ministry was aware that Armenian law enforcement would release Hartounian, on condition that he not leave Yerevan, after the investigation was completed.
When Hetq asked the ministry spokesperson if they were aware of the negative reactions Hartounian’s arrest had elicited in various diaspora circles, Andreasyan said they were but could say nothing further at this time.
