Armenian Minister of Emergency Situations David Tonoyan in Yerevan today met with a NATO delegation led by James Appathuria, the Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy and NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Tonoyan and Appathurai are said to have discussed expanding Armenia-NATO cooperation regarding decreasing the risk of disasters and increasing seismic resistance and civil infrastructure readiness as part of the Individual Partnership and Cooperation Programme.

Also discussed was the need for regional cooperation with the application of NATO mechanisms.
