Armenia’s Human Rights’ Defenders Office says reports it received alleging that police beat Jirayr Sefilyan and Gevorg Safaryan, now being tried on charges of illegal weapons possession and fomenting public disorder, have not been confirmed.

In its statement, the Office says staffers visited the courtroom where the trial is being held and interviewed the two defendants.
