Media NGOs in Armenia Demand Those Responsible for Beating Journalists be Tried

Nine media NGOs in Armenia today released a statement calling on the Armenian government to bring those law enforcement officers responsible for using physical force against journalists covering the Sasna Dzrer demonstrations in Yerevan last July to justice.

The NGOs say the preliminary investigation has dragged on for one year now and that only nine people have been charged with any wrongdoing.

The organizations say that the government is attempting, yet again, to cover-up such cases.

The criminal oligarchic regime ruling Armenia makes it a habit to allow police brutality to simply go unpunushed. This is just another reason criminals must be removed from the top levels of the government.
