Polish Sejm Marks 650 Anniversary of Armenian Edict
The Polish Sejm has unanimously passed a resolution marking the 650th anniversary of an edict issued by Casimir III the Great granting internal sovereignty to Armenians living in Poland.
Armenians were thus allowed to open a diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Lvov, among other privileges.
The resolution says that the edict paved the way for close cooperation between the two peoples and mentions the role of Armenians in Polish history.
