Tsarukyan Alliance MPs will sign a petition floated by the Yelk Alliance calling for a special parliamentary session to discuss a recent spate of basic foodstuff price rises in Armenia.

Tsarukyan Alliance MP Mikayel Melkumyan, one of the parliament’s three vice-presidents, made the announcement.

Yelk Alliance faction head Nikol Pashinyan wants to schedule a special session on February 16 and needs 27 MPs to support the move.

Yelk, with nine MPs, needs the support of eighteen Tsarukyan deputies to convene the special session to draft changes to the tax code.
