A Hetq reporter on the scene says that police and men in civilian dress are dispersing anti-Serzh Sargsyan protesters gathered in France Square and are loading some into nearby buses.

Police are also chasing down some of the fleeing protesters, and if caught, beating them.

Yerevan resident Anahit Karapetyan says police summoned her to the Nor Nork station for questioning where she saw police beating young people, who had been detained, as they entered the police station.

Ashot Aharonyan, who heads the Police Department’s Press Office, says five people have been taken to the Nor Nork station as of 10:30am today.
