Arayik Khandoyan and Ashot Petrosyan, two Sasna Dzrer members now on trial for the seizure of a Yerevan police station in the summer of 2016, have been on hunger strike for seven days now, demanding a general amnesty for all political prisoners in Armenia.

Their lawyer, Arayik Papikyan, says his clients have gone on hunger strike in solidary with Garegin Chukaszyan, a member of Armenia’s opposition Pre-Parliament movement who had gone underground in July 2016 after being accused by law enforcement for organizing “mass disorder but was arrested on April 23 of this year.

Chukaszyan was released from pre-trial detention on May 11 but continues his hunger strike, now in its 21st day.
