PM Pashinyan Orders Environmental Inspections at 28 Mining Companies

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has ordered inspections to be held in 28 mining companies to see whether they are adhering to environmental standards.

“Taking into account the risks in this sector, I have ordered inspections in these companies to prevent any threat to public health, the legal interests of the state and the environment, and to remove any possible environmental code violations,” Pashinyan said at today’s cabinet session.

Pashinyan said that Armenia must exploit its natural resources but in a way that corresponds to environmental norms and the law.
