Armenian Prime Minister Says "Human Dignity" Lacking in Country's Prisons
Arguing that a modicum human dignity must be brought to prisons in the country, Armenian Prime Nikol Pashinyan backed a decision to allow certain inmates six lengthy and two short visits with family members per year.
Pashinyan noted that conditions in the visitor halls and rooms designed for conjugal visits at the Nubarashen, Kosh and Artik correctional facilities were particularly unappealing and in need of improvement.
The government is backing a bill that would make changes to the country’s Correctional Code.
