An oxygen cannister exploded today at Yerevan’s St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center, killing one person.

Police press spokesman Edgar Janoyan told Hetq that the deceased worked in the hospital’s oxygen unit.

Another worker sustained minor injuries and was treated at the hospital.

The Ministry of Health reports that the cannister that exploded didn’t belong to the hospital.

An investigation is underway.
