Cops Charge Gyumri Rector with Bribe Taking

14:13, January 30, 2012

Armenian law enforcement officials say they have verified a student’s claim that one of his teachers accepted a 150,000 AMD bribe in return for a passing examination grade.

The student had gone to the police on January 29, claiming that the rector of the Mikayel Nalbandian Teachers’ Institute in Gyumri had taken the bribe.

Members of the Organized Anti-Crime Division investigated the charges and later verified them. A criminal case against the rector has been launched.
