In a statement released to the press, ARF MP Lilit Galstyan has lambasted local and national officials in Armenia for working to defend the commercial interest of the few at the expense of public interests.

MP Galstyan focuses attention on the worsening environmental state of Yerevan proper where green spaces and parks are being destroyed for commercial and residential developers.

Lambasting local municipal officials, Galstyan writes: “What are you doing? This is an issue being raised by all residents of Yerevan. Why aren’t you working in the public interest rather than giving preference to the business interests?

The legislator voices the following question to RA President Serzh Sargsyan:

“When will we see the day when your exhortation to ‘renounce tarnished stereotypes and replace them with a national-state approach’, actually comes to fruition?

She says that day must come soon otherwise thousands of our compatriots will continue to flee the country.
