Armenian Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan, at a meeting today in Yerevan, discussed the potential for expanding defense sector cooperation with newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy.

After congratulating Tracy on her new diplomatic posting, Minister Tonoyan, according to a government press release, noted that Armenia-U.S. cooperation in the defense sector has steadily grown over the past seventeen years and that he was certain new initiatives are forthcoming.

Regional security matters, including the Karabakh conflict settlement process, were also discussed.
