Armenian and Georgian Presidents Meet in Yerevan; Discuss Deepening of Relations

The presidents of Armenia and Georgia, surrounded by delegation staffers, sat down today in Yerevan today to discuss greater cooperation between the two countries across a wide expanse of sectors.

Georgian President  Salome Zurabishvili and her delegation arrived in Armenia today, at the invitation of Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, for a two-day official visit.

The Georgian delegation includes Minister of Justice Tea Tsulikiani, Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Georgi Volski, a group of MPs, Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia, and other officials.

This is Zurabishvili’s first official visit to Armenia.

“The potential for cooperation is huge,” an Armenian government press release quotes Sarkissian as saying.

Zurabishvili said the Georgian delegation’s presence in Yerevan is proof of Tbilisi’s interest to deepening relations with Yerevan.

The meeting was held at President Sarkissian’s offices.
