Armenian Prime Minister Hosts Visiting Georgian President: Both Agree to Expand Relations

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today met with visiting Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, telling her that “an historic opportunity to raise the level of relations between our two countries now exists.”

Zurabishvili arrived in Yerevan today on a two-day official visit.

Pashinyan, according to an official Armenian press release, told Zurabishvili that his first official trip as prime minister was to Georgia and that this proves the importance he places on relations between the two countries.

Pashinyan said the time had come to base Armenian-Georgian relations on shared strategic interests.

Zurabishvili said she was happy to be in Armenia, a country deemed a friend of Georgia, and that she was certain that relations will expand.

“There is much that united us, our geography, our history, and our shared vision of the future. Together, we can do much and there is much to do together,” Zurabishvili said.
