Armenian Ministry of Defense Spokesman Artzrun Hovhannisyan, in a Facebook post today, writes that a man was shot and taken into custody by Armenian border guards after he crossed the border from Azerbaijan and failed to heed warnings to stop.

 The incident occurred along Armenia’s northeastern border with Azerbaijan.

The man, wounded in the lower leg, was taken to a local hospital.
