Armenian Foreign Minister and Ethiopian President Meet in Addis Ababa
Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, now in Addis Ababa on an official visit, today met with Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde.
The two discussed areas of possible economic cooperation between the two countries, paying particular focus on the IT sector and digital technologies.
Mnatsakanyan, according to an Armenian government press release, said that one of the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy is to expand ties to the countries of Africa.
President Sahle-Work Zewde noted that Ethiopia’s tiny but influential Armenian community could serve as a bridge between the two countries.
Elected on October 25, 2018 by members of the Federal Parliamentary Assembly, Sahle-Work Zewde is the first woman president of Ethiopia.
